Fetcham Park Host Leatherhead & District Business Awards Judging Lunch

The 2017 Leatherhead and District Business Awards are now open for entries. With six categories, the Awards celebrate those who are building dynamic local and international businesses and people who inspire others to achieve their potential.

Last year, Fetcham Park was delighted to receive the Leisure and Tourism Award. In 2017, we are continuing our association with the Awards by hosting the judging lunch at Fetcham Park in June.

The Awards provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase the district’s business excellence, and winners will benefit from raised profiles in the local media and an increased online presence.

Fetcham Park is Proud to Support in 2017

Speaking at the 2017 Awards launch at ExonnMobile’s offices on February 28th, Fetcham Park director, Laura Caudery, highlighted the positive impact that entering, and subsequently winning, the award last year had on their business.

Laura comments: “Winning the Leisure and Tourism Award, as a relatively new business, was a huge achievement for Fetcham Park and one that we continue to build on.

“It marked a significant point in the evolution of our business, and the public recognition of our continuing improvements gave us an enormous amount of satisfaction, as well as the confidence to move forward and continue to innovate with the range of services we provide at the house.

“I think it’s fair to say that rather than resting on our laurels, we’ve felt we wanted to deliver even more as an ‘award-winning’ venue, particularly as it recognised how we had been able to make such a positive impact on the local area and that’s something we strive to do every day in our relationships with staff, clients, suppliers and other businesses.”

Why Enter a Business Award?

Fetcham Park has received several awards in recent years. Here Laura highlights why taking the time to enter awards is good for business:

Staff – Entering awards motivates staff and encourages a collective sense of pride from having their work, achievements and contributions recognised. And when it comes to recruiting, it’s something both we and prospective employees refer to. It’s a real badge of honour, especially when it’s one that recognises your contribution locally.

Clients – They are not only happy for you but they’re pleased to be associated with an award-winner. It’s good business for everyone!

Prospective clients – It’s something we’re proud to talk about and indeed our awards are proudly on display in our entrance hall.  We’re not shy about how good we are!  But it is a little bit less embarrassing when you can say that other people have said you’re great, it’s not just you blowing your own trumpet!

Valuable PR – Yes, entering awards can be time-consuming but every time someone mentions that to me, I reply by saying just how much value they’ve brought to our business: the PR value is immense.

Local connections – We have made genuine, and valued, local connections through entering Awards, and even if it’s not direct, it means a great deal to know that we are all working together to celebrate and further the talents of our local business community.
