Preme & Phil’s Wedding on Love My Dress
Those of you who are as obsessed as we are with keeping an eye on social media may have already noticed a recent Fetcham Park wedding popped up on Love My Dress earlier today. We were absolutely delighted to share moments from Preme and Phil’s stunning day with Annabel, and hopefully Love My Dress readers will fall just as much in love with this couple and all the special moments from their big day as we did.
In fact, this wedding was so inspiring that it encouraged our very own Laura Caudery to write this article, extolling the virtues of the classic black tie event. It was wonderful to see the house packed full of guests wearing their most glamorous outfits and it’s no lie to say that Fetcham Park is at its most beautiful when in the company of such style and sophistication.
But it wasn’t just the glamour and the beauty of the day that captured Laura’s attention, it was the couple themselves.
“Preme and Phil developed a very close relationship, not just with Fetcham Park but also St Mary’s church, adjacent to the house. They regularly attended services at St Mary’s and I was honoured when they invited me to join them for their wedding.
It was wonderful to watch Preme getting ready at the house with her bridesmaids and one of my favourite memories is of them saying a prayer together before they left. As I watched Preme descend the stairs with her father and walk past the Christmas tree, across to the church, I was reminded of taking the exact same journey on my own December wedding day.
The service was beautiful and the love between not just Preme and Phil but their family and friends, was evident throughout. It was incredibly moving and a real privilege to bear witness to their marriage. You might think it strange that I wanted to share so many photos from the church but they are some of my favourites from the day: it reminds me what we should focus on and I love how Mark has captured their love and commitment to God, as well as one another, in these beautiful images.
It was also lovely to be able to welcome Mark back to the house; he photographed our launch and he really has captured the essence of a Fetcham Park wedding day. I can’t wait to work with him again this summer.”
On Mark’s own blog, he spent a bit of time deliciously explaining why the light here at Fetcham Park is so magical, particularly for a wedding photographer…
“One of the many wonderful things about Fetcham is that when inside soft lighting is everywhere, allowing thoughtful portraits of moments and conversation. The Great Hall is awash with a warm glow which illuminates faces just enough to display expression. The tactic is to look, wait and shoot – nailing the moment the face is lit during conversation. You’re playing a time-sensitive game of cat and mouse with the shadows, but it’s well worth the effort.
I photographed the launch of this great place around 3 years ago and it’s very impressive to note just how swiftly Laura Caudery and her team have established the venue as a major player outside central London. With more commissions already in place at Fetcham for 2015, I’m looking forward to seeking out more atmosphere and feeling in this most romantic of locations.”
We’re sharing just a selection of our favourite images from Preme and Phil’s big day here on our blog, but to see more and read a full report on these spectacular nuptials, do make sure you read the full article on Love My Dress.
