Old Friends & Newlyweds at Fetcham Park
At Fetcham Park, you could say we’re more than a little attached to our couples. The fact that we only host 25 weddings a year and the same team works with each couple throughout their planning process means that we all get to know each other very well and more often than not, like to keep in touch after the wedding day (and yes, we do cry when we watch the videos!).
So, what better way to keep in touch with friends, old and new, than to host our own reception at the house and celebrate weddings past and future.
At the end of January, we hosted an informal champagne afternoon tea at Fetcham Park and invited all couples who were married in 2014 and those who are going to be celebrating with us in years to come too. It was a busy day, as we started off with a shoot for the incredibly talented Anna of Friend Of Faux, who adorned Fetcham Park with her creations in the most beautiful and elegant of ways. Then Neil from Le Papillon Patisserie arrived and filled our Shell Room table with cakes and sweet treats galore (home-made marshmallow anyone?!). Tom from Kalm Kitchen not only produced melt-in your-mouth canapés, but was able to meet some of our couples too and Carlie from A Cup of Vintage provided the prettiest of vintage china for teas and coffees.
Sarah-Jane and Richard from Melisma serenaded our gusts with soft jazz and sax and between performances, Emotion Music played ‘the Fetcham Walz’, a beautiful piece of music produced by Jane specifically for Fetcham Park – what a treat! Then of course, there was the ever-lovely and super talented Eddie Judd, quietly capturing the atmosphere behind her lens and our generous friends at Les Caves De Pyrene who provided the delicious fizz.
Amongst the talents of these suppliers, our guests and team had the opportunity to excitedly catch up on news. Our past brides and grooms were able to relive their wedding day and our future couples revel in the excitement that theirs is yet to come; it was absolutely magical to see everyone come together and share stories as well as aspirations. The result was a huge melting pot of love, admiration and happiness and the day can be counted as one of the highlights of our history as a wedding venue. The icing on the cake was that we were able to celebrate the recent TWIA win and share the thrill with our couples – a win that could not have been possible without them.
As a team, we’d like to thank everyone who attended – you really did make for the best possible start to Fetcham Park’s year and we are so honoured to have you all as part of our Fetcham Park family.
