New Things for Spring
Well, here we are in spring and how thrilled are we all to see blossom, daffodils and sunshine after that soaking wet winter? Anyway, onwards to longer days and happy ways…
We’ll start our essential round up of the best things for spring with a little bit of retail news. Firstly, we’ve talked before on the blog about our love/obsession with macarons so imagine our delight when we heard that Anges de Sucre, the mistress of the macaron, will soon be opening her first shop in a gorgeous little corner of Kensington. Rest assured that we will be hot-footing our way there on opening to stock up on all those to die-for delicacies. One of our favourite stationers, BerinMade, has created a stunning window wrap for the new shop which has definitely got us wondering – if the outside looks this good now, how heavenly will the finished shop be?
Secondly, there’s now another reason for visiting the epicentre of bridalwear that is Miss Bush – the launch of the new Miss Bush Lifestyle range. Delicately scented candles, beautiful stationery, gifts and more, all designed exclusively for Miss Bush. We fell in love with the signature scented candles that were burning brightly on the Miss Bush stand at last October’s Brides The Show and we can’t think of a better gift for a Mother of the Bride or bridesmaid (or even for ourselves but shhhh, we didn’t say that!).
In our opinion, this is the season for pastel colour palettes and as we’re always looking for an excuse to update our accessories, we’ve certainly got our eye on one of the softly coloured satchels from The Cambridge Satchel Company. Perfect, in our opinion, for carrying all those seasonal essentials – sunglasses, scarf and the ubiquitous umbrella for those spring showers. Whilst we’re talking about bags, have you seen Anya Hindmarch’s Crisp Packet Clutch? It’s been all over the gossip columns and we suggest that you get your name down on the waiting list as soon as possible.
One of the things that we’ve noticed at Fetcham Park recently is the huge range of colour combinations that our wonderful couples are weaving into their weddings. We’re in love with the classical choices and we’re head over heels for the unexpected matches too. As we’re all about colour right now, we’ve been spending quite a bit of time browsing the colour palette inspiration to be found on Martha Stewart Weddings – take a look and be inspired!
Just before we go, can we recommend a few things for your spring reading lists? If you’ve not yet got your hands on a copy of Australian wedding magazine Hitched, get out there and find a copy because it’s unlike anything you’ll have seen. You can often find copies in larger branches of WHSmith or online. Another must-read is Selina Lake’s new book ‘Outdoor Living’ – jam-packed full of inspirational ideas and beautiful images, it’s great for outdoor wedding inspiration and also for those summer evening parties we know we’re all planning!
We hope you’ve enjoyed this quick spin through some new things for spring. Don’t forget Mother’s Day on Sunday 30th March and enjoy this beautiful season.
