Lucy & Michael’s Fetcham Park Wedding
I can still remember meeting Lucy, Michael and her father for the first time. It was like we already knew each other and I felt so relaxed chatting with them and loved their enthusiasm for the house.
When we launched I had no portfolio of beautiful wedding photos, no press features, no testimonials or anything for that matter to share with prospective couples, so it was a real leap of faith for Lucy in particular to put so much trust in the house, our services and our suppliers.
Because of that, and the support shown to me by Lucy and Michael when my husband passed away, I wanted to give them a wedding gift to celebrate their very special relationship with the house. Knowing that Steph of Fairynuff Flowers was their florist, I asked her to produce an arrangement for the Shell Room to complement Lucy’s floral scheme. It was incredible, and is still one of my all-time favourites at the house!
I was so pleased to read Lucy’s piece on Rock My Wedding and delighted that they loved their wedding day. Lucy put so much thought into every detail – and there were so many lovingly-made DIY touches – and it was wonderful to see all her hard work and months of planning result in such a beautiful celebration. The house was full to bursting with smiles all day long and I can still remember kissing Lucy, Michael and their guests goodbye – it really was such a fun and happy day!
And some wise words from Lucy? “Fetcham Park is an absolutely stunning 300 year old house. Every square inch of the place is beautiful, so we really didn’t need anything to make it the perfect backdrop to our wedding, just a few personal pieces. As a surprise to say thank you for being the first couple to book Fetcham Park as a wedding venue, Laura arranged for us to have a huge stone urn cascading with beautiful blooms to take pride of place in the Shell Room. This was made by our florist so it fitted in perfectly with our colours.”
“Looking back on our day I can honestly say it was the craziest, most surreal, best day of my life. The memories we now have are priceless. Little things like having a lot of family and friends involved in the day with important roles really made it for us, as well as not following the rules if they didn’t apply to us.”
