A Bride’s Eye View of Brides The Show
Do you remember when we featured the lovely wedding of Vinita and Kieran? Well, Vinita has since become something of a star pupil around Fetcham Park – popping back in to see us at our open house events, lending her experience of getting married at the house to other brides planning their big day and becoming our ‘girl on the ground’ so to speak when it comes to what’s hot and what’s not in wedding world. As a newly-married oracle, Vinita visited Brides The Show last weekend with her engaged friend and we thought we’d get a round-up of her highlights from the show…
Brides the Show was overflowing with beautiful and inspiring ideas when we planned our own wedding and the same was true when I returned on Saturday with my bride-to-be friend. The show was full to the brim with bridal inspiration and I had so much fun going back as cheerleader for my friend after having been the bride myself.
Champagne was in hand all day. We treated ourselves to Duck & Dry blow dries, enjoyed complimentary Bobbi Brown makeovers, complimentary Essie manicures and sat front row at the catwalk show which was set against the most enchanting Secret Garden backdrop and included the dreamiest rambling roses – I do love a rose!
There were floral crowns, floral poodles, cake in abundance and even a unicorn. Here are a few of my favourite things for you to enjoy…
Amazing hanging flowers, flowers in jars and floral crowns from Hiding in the City Flowers…
Romantic table and hanging floral centrepieces by Grandirosa…
Elegant floral centrepieces by Mary Jane Vaughan…
Pretty and playful wedding stationery by Eagle Eyed Bride.
I love a photo booth and this vintage booth by The Flash Pack was so much fun!
I also really liked this this open air photo booth ‘VIP Box’ by Love Story Studios
Beautiful bespoke cakes by Daisy Cakes
Some pictures from the beautiful catwalk show…
After listening to a Bobbi Brown Masterclass we waited for a one-on-one complimentary makeup tutorial. If you are unsure how you want your makeup to look on the day, or if you are keen to do your own makeup on the day, Bobbi Brown offer complimentary tutorials at their counters. So you can go to your nearest counter and book a tutorial in.
The highlight of the day for me was my bouncy blow dry by Duck & Dry. Yulia, Duck & Dry’s founder, took us through the look book and showed us the different signature styles on offer – I opted for Low Tide Waves. This would be a great place for a bride and her bridal party to go for some pre-hen glam time or for a pre-wedding pamper day. I actually did the same thing in New York on my own hen party where I went to a blow dry bar with friends and had my hair styled whilst sipping bubbles. We had so much fun and it was a real treat before our big night out!
We booked our honeymoon through Turquoise and I have since recommended them to anyone who shares their honeymoon plans with me! I was telling the lady pictured below how great our booking experience was and also how lovely the lady who helped us was. Low and behold, the lady was her! She proceeded to tell me how Turquoise had also just won Conde Nast Traveller’s Best Tour Operator 2015 – richly deserved, I think, because they really were wonderful with us.
If you’re a bride-to-be still searching for inspiration or you simply want to have a pre-wedding girly day with your bridal party then book yourself onto the next show. I certainly drew inspiration from Brides the Show myself when we planned our own wedding. However, do remember, if you decide to visit with your fiancé it’s imperative that you get a glass of champagne in his hand as quickly as possible!
