We could have had no idea when Kiki from the Chosen Wedding Collective contacted us to see if we would speak at The Hub – a new venture she was curating – that one room could be so packed full of creativity, inspiration and mutual appreciation of ambition.
Described as “a place to come to share ideas in an inviting, supportive, comforting and encouraging environment,” the Hub was billed as “a place where we can meet as a community of like minded creatives, gain insights from wedding industry professionals, make friends, have a jolly good time and most of all…be inspired.” With a list of speakers ranging from Coco Wedding Venues to The Little Wedding Helper, the day offered an opportunity to delve into how these fantastic businesses all came into being and continue to evolve their greatness.
Despite the inevitable competitiveness that underpins the wedding industry, it is also a sector bursting with support and this was never more evident than when our very own Laura Caudery took to the stage to present on the subject of social media within the realm of small creative businesses. Eyes lit up around the room as she waxed lyrical on how having a virtual presence has enhanced the impact that Fetcham Park has had within the industry and the community that it has subsequently fostered.
It’s safe to say that between the thoughtful styling of the space and the fervent, enrapt conversations that erupted between attendees and speakers, everyone who delved into The Hub came away feeling fired up and ready to take their wedding businesses to the next level. And, it would seem, Laura’s chat about connecting in the online world to reap rewards in the physical world paid off, as can be evidenced by her Twitter stream after the event…!
If you’re a wedding business seeking inspiration, you’ll want to make sure you book a place at The Hub when it returns in November. It truly is a great day investing in yourself by learning from others and if the chatter on social media is anything to go by, this will be the type of event that just gets bigger and better as time goes by!
