Ralph Lauren & Hermes at Fetcham Park for Rake & Revolution Magazines
Described as “The Modern Voice of Classic Elegance”, The Rake is a bimonthly men’s style and artisanal luxury publication that takes an educational, in-depth, behind-the-scenes approach to luxury goods and classic men’s style. Its approach to menswear is inspired by classic male style icons like Cary Grant, Michael Caine, and Gianni Agnelli (whose nickname, “The Rake of the Riviera,” lends the title its moniker).
The Rake is considered to be one of the most influential menswear publications and was a key title when I coordinated advertising media plans at Alfred Dunhill, so I was thrilled when they approached Fetcham Park regarding a shoot they were organising featuring Ralph Lauren and Hermes, two of my favourite brands.
Their sister title, Revolution, is considered to be the world’s ultimate watch lifestyle magazine, and as someone who is passionate about beautiful timepieces, I couldn’t have been more proud to see an image taken at Fetcham Park on the front cover! I was fortunate to be involved with The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie whilst at Dunhill – part of the Richemont Group, home to many of the world’s leading brands – so watches have featured heavily both in my personal and professional life and it was a real thrill to work with such an incredible team at the house.
Sarah Murray, Fashion Editor of The Rake, contacted me about using Fetcham Park just as I was about to board a plane to New York to attend The Blogcademy and whilst I only just avoided missing my flight, I’m very happy I took the call! Ralph Lauren and Hermes are brands that I consider to be iconic, elegant and timeless, much like the house itself, so there was no chance of me passing up an opportunity to host such an exciting shoot.
I hope you enjoy these images as much as me (you’re allowed to be distracted by the very handsome male model – it makes a nice change from looking at wedding dresses!).
