Carolanne & Luke’s Golden September Wedding
Luke was wearing an indecent amount of lycra when he first visited Fetcham Park. He’d come to meet Carolanne – of Carolanne Armstrong Make-Up – after ‘Tea on the Terrace’ and, as she packed away her make-up kit, an array of Laura Loves suppliers poked their heads into the Grand Hall to see the new love of her life.
You see, there’s a selection of wedding suppliers who have become personal friends, as well as friends of Fetcham Park, so there was some excitement around the dashing young man who had cycled a million miles to join us for a post-event dinner. He was as dashing as he was charming and as he greeted Carolanne that June afternoon, he announced that perhaps one day they would be standing under the Laguerre murals saying their own vows. Carolanne squealed, blushed and told him not to be silly.
But of course, that’s exactly what happened. It was the opening overture of a love story that made us feel incredibly lucky to have the type of beautiful house that brings people together. We couldn’t have been more thrilled when Carolanne and Luke approached us to be the setting for their nuptials, which would prove to be not only an example of unrestrained chicness, but also one of the most fun parties we’ve had the happy honour of being a part of.

The Fetcham Foxes
So, when you’re a leading wedding make-up artist yourself, it makes sense that you end up doing your own wedding make-up (and that of your bridal party!), but it was also a no-brainer for Carolanne to enlist the help of those whose collaborations had, thus far, been professional.
Miss Bush sourced the stunning Jesus Peiro wedding dress and made the couture monochrome sashes that Carolanne and her daughter Violet adopted for the evening celebrations. Bloomingayles excelled herself in the creation of stunning guilded autumnal displays and that outrageously beautiful bouquet. Sharon Roberts – hair guru and Carolanne’s frequent wedding sidekick – was responsible for the textured bouffant that incorporated a crown of heather. Between A Cup of Vintage and Creative Candi, the sweet treats kept on coming and, of course, we have a whole library of stunning images from the day courtesy of Juilet Mckee and her trusty camera.
It’s fair to say that we are indulgently sharing this wedding with you as it provides us with so many memories of a very happy day seeing our extremely cherished friends tie the knot. It was a strange sensation to pop into the bridal suite before the ceremony and see so many Laura Loves suppliers in action but, this time, for the benefit of one of our own. It fills us all with such pride to have been part of Carolanne and Luke’s insanely gorgeous day, and even more so to watch their marriage and family grow.
